So, I am addicted to makeover shows. It could be a house, a car, a person, a dog it matters not as long as there are before and after shots.
I TiVo the following makeover shows:
What Not to Wear If Stacy and Clinton knew me they would want to be best friends with me and would let me be on their show as the third wheel
Design on a Dime I can watch a 30 min episode in 5
TLC’s plastic surgery shows So I can be furious at people who are addicted to surgery and 18 year olds getting collagen and botox
The Swan I am SO fascinated by the concept that an ugly woman can undergo a Mercedes worth of plastic surgery only to be told that even with all that, she is still not pretty enough.
But, so here’s my beef: where is MY makeover? Where is the team of celebrity makeup artists and hair stylists to make ME over? Where is the ex-marine physical trainer to whip ME into shape? Where’s MY therapist? WHEN DO I GET MY CHANCE?
What about all the rest of us Joe Schmoes who can’t seem to motivate ourselves into health and fitness and who can’t afford beauty and fashion?
I figure that it is just a matter of time before all of America has had a makeover. I’m patient. I’ll gladly wait my turn.

I agree with you. I feel left out because I'm not hideous, obese, disfigured or a total fashion idiot. I still can't afford a Stacy & Clinton $5000 shopping spree or home makeover, etc...I'll be right there with you waiting for my turn too.
You have clearly missed the point of make over shows!! You cannot make over perfection Carrie Ann…
Why do I have to always explain the simplest of things to you people?
Rebecca, can you email me that comment everyday around hmm... 8:30 am? Thanks...
That reminds me, next time I'm in a hotel I'm going to call the front desk and ask for a validation call each morning at 8.30 am sharp. That should get my day going in the right direction...
Amen, Amen to Rebecca's comment. You are beautiful, Carrie! Don't you realize that YOU are my personal Stacy and Clinton? The fashion police would be banging down my door on a regular basis if I didn't have sisters who kept me current on "what's hot" and "what's not". You sparkle and add color to many of our lives.
I have strong opinions concerning what all of these makeover shows are doing to the average american pysche. (spell check that one, too, please). I'm as addicted as the next to these shows, and I realize that desiring to have what they have or change who or what I am is a terrible trick Hollywood is playing on us. But, I think it is creeping in deeper than we probably realize, making us want things and feel more and more dissatisfied with who we are. I am a sick, sick person for realizing this and not even making a weak attempt to make a New Year's resolution to stop. Isn't Wickedly Perfect on tonight?
Perhaps another audition video is in order? Your first video for a reality show was so delightful. But I concur with Rebecca: you are perfect and lovely. So you'd have to, like, fake it somehow. I can help.
